Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area is a 5,490-acre patchwork of waysides in Scott County, four of them strung along the Minnesota River between Shakopee and Belle Plaine. The units are interspersed with the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, and though the state and federal agencies manage their respective land separately, they share consistent signage for visitors.
