About Sakatah Lake State Park

Sakatah Lake State Park covers 842 acres around a natural widening of the Cannon River near Waterville, named for the Dakota word "Sakatah," meaning "singing hills." Some park trails carry Dakota names in tribute, and the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail, connecting Faribault and Mankato, passes through the park.
