About Afton State Park
Afton State Park follows the St. Croix River in Washington County, where hiking trails climb through glacial moraine and blufflands. To limit overuse, the swimming beach and camping area can only be reached on foot. The park wraps around three sides of the privately run Afton Alps ski area and takes its name from Robert Burns's poem "Afton Water."
