Interstate State Park is really two adjoining parks straddling the Minnesota–Wisconsin border at the Dalles of the St. Croix River, a basalt gorge carved with glacial potholes, beside Taylors Falls and St. Croix Falls. The 298-acre Minnesota side sits within the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, with rustic-style buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.
