About Camden State Park

Camden State Park lies along the Redwood River near Marshall, developed from 1935 by Veterans Conservation Corps and WPA crews whose National Park Service-designed layout let the river shape the park. Thirteen of their buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places. A 1971 study found one of the westernmost natural stands of sugar maple in North America here.
