Lake Shetek State Park sits on Lake Shetek, the largest lake in southwestern Minnesota and the source of the Des Moines River, popular for water recreation and camping. It also preserves a log cabin and a monument to fifteen settlers killed nearby during the 1862 Dakota War. The WPA developed the park during the Depression, and two districts of its structures are on the National Register.
