About Father Hennepin State Park

Father Hennepin State Park occupies the southeast corner of Mille Lacs Lake and is named for Father Louis Hennepin, a priest who explored the area with a French expedition in 1680. The 320-acre park has 103 campsites and a sandy beach stretching more than a mile along the lake.
