About Great River Bluffs State Park

Great River Bluffs State Park, renamed from O.L. Kipp State Park in the late 1990s, preserves bluffs rising 500 feet above the Mississippi River southeast of Winona along with the narrow valleys between them. The steep terrain supports rare and fragile plant communities, and two of the bluffs carry added protection as the King's and Queen's Bluff Scientific and Natural Area.
