About Cascade River State Park
Cascade River State Park occupies a rocky stretch near Minnesota's northeastern tip where the Cascade River drops to meet Lake Superior, connecting to the Superior Hiking Trail. Developed from 1934 as Cascade River State Wayside, the CCC built a 535-foot overlook wall from local gabbro, a model for roadside design later added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
