About Bear Head Lake State Park
Bear Head Lake State Park near Ely offers Boundary Waters-style scenery with road access and motorboating, surrounding the 670-acre Bear Head Lake and three smaller fishing lakes. Boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking are the most popular activities. In 2010 the park won an online "America's Favorite Park" poll, boosted by fans of a webcam following a mother black bear and her cub.
