State ParkAbout Maplewood State Park
Maplewood State Park spans 9,250 acres in the Leaf Mountains near Pelican Rapids, in a forest-prairie transition zone known for sugar maple, basswood, elm, and oak that color each fall. It preserves the Maplewood Site, a pre-contact habitation area occupied in two periods between 650 and 1650 CE, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The park was established in 1965.
