About Lake Carlos State Park

Lake Carlos State Park, established in 1937 about 10 miles north of Alexandria, sits on a 2,605-acre lake with nearly 13 miles of shoreline reaching depths of 163 feet. Visitors regularly spot beaver, deer, loons, and herons. Five Rustic Style buildings the WPA built here, including a mess hall and bath house, are on the National Register of Historic Places.
